CABINET Schranksysteme AG has been awarded the new seal of approval “Furniture Made in Germany”. The specialist for custom-made built-in wardrobes has been producing its furniture exclusively at its headquarters in Kerpen near Cologne for more than 40 years.

"With the label of origin, we can emphasize our domestic production and our high quality standards even more," said CABINET CEO Jens Leyrer when Jan Kurth, the managing director of the Association of the German Furniture Industry (VDM), presented the certificate. "We are pleased that with Cabinet an innovative premium provider has joined the group of certified companies," commented Kurth on the award.

Last year, VDM developed and introduced the “Furniture Made in Germany” seal together with the German Institute for Quality Assurance and Labeling (RAL). The strict criteria require that construction, assembly and quality testing take place in Germany. In addition, the manufacturing process relevant to quality must mainly take place in Germany. A good 50 furniture manufacturers have so far certified themselves for the geographical guarantee of origin, which started on August 1, 2020. The Deutsche Gütegemeinschaft Möbel (DGM) monitors compliance with the criteria on behalf of VDM. The certified furniture ranges can be marked with the new label in a clearly visible manner for the end user.
